"I draw, I practice lithography, I make artist books, all tactile processes and exploration of surface. I am in the craft of how to make an image that is meaningful to me and relevant to today. I keep simplicity and directness through intuitive and abstract drawings. As the work evolves, layers of significance emerge, giving a frame and an anchor for poetic and aesthetic experience."

Véronique Mermaz was born in the French Alps. Following a degree in Fine Art and career in the visual industry in Paris, she moved to rural Suffolk (England) in 2008 and slowly made her way back to creative practice. Between 2016-2020 she trained at Leicester Print Workshop with artist, lithographer and writer Serena Smith.
